Exercise 2 – Effect of Feedback on Bandwidth
EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to under-stand the effect of series
negative feedback on bandwidth by using a typical series feedback circuit. You will verify your
results with an oscilloscope.
DISCUSSION
- Amplifier bandwidth defined
- Lower and upper cutoff frequencies specified as 3 dB down from midrange level
- Approximate bandwidth using square wave input signal and formula fx = 0.159/T.
Negative feedback reduces the gain of an amplifier and increases bandwidth.
