EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to calculate the percentage of line
regulation of a shunt voltage regulator. You will obtain the required data with a multimeter.
DISCUSSION
- Line regulation specifies the allowable change in circuit output voltage for a given change in
line voltage. - Line regulation is expressed as a percentage and is usually determined with the load
resistance held constant. - Line regulation percentage is calculated as follows:
