Exercise 2 – Unijunction Oscillator Operation
EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to activate a typical circuit block by
applying power to the UNIJUNCTION TRANSISTOR circuit block. You will verify your results
with an oscilloscope.
DISCUSSION
- The circuit produced by the unijunction transistor is called a relaxation oscillator.
- A timing circuit, consisting of an RC network, determines the frequency of the output signal.
- A repeating waveform is produced at each terminal of the UJT when the timing components
and power are properly connected.
