EVELYN ST. JAMES “EVIE”
Evelyn was a troubled child that came from a troubled household. Since little, she was able to
manipulate fire and create fire outbursts out of nowhere. She was also immune to fire, meaning
she did not feel the hotness, nor would she get burned.
Evelyn was 12 at the time and a very peculiar smart girl and knew to keep her powers a secret.
She had a strange habit of dissecting animals that she befriended, switching their body parts
with different species. She was also very keen to drawing, being this a reality escape.
She came from a broken family, with an alcoholic mother and an aggressive stepfather. Her
stepfather believed that Evelyn’s existence was “the punishment of the almighty God”. He
despised Evelyn and beat her up repeatedly. He wanted to get rid of her, so he convinced her
mother that she was the devil’s child and that she needed to be set free. They plotted to murder
Evelyn. One night, when Evelyn was sleeping in her bedroom, her stepfather and mother came
in, bringing with them rope, duct tape, a whip, and the bible. When Evelyn woke up, she started
screaming, and the stepfather pinned her down, tying her arms and feet. He covered her mouth
