YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD
You are a child of God. We are all children of God. Three reasons why you are a
child of God:
- He created you. All creation was made by God. If He made you, then you
belong to Him, He is your Maker and your Father. He owns you. The
relationship you have with Him however depends on how you have
responded to His fatherhood, and whether or not you have honoured Him
as your Maker. - He saved you and gave you new birth. If you are a born again Christian, if
you are in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, then you are truly a child
of God. You are a child of God by heavenly genetics, not just by creation. - You are walking daily in His love, His saving grace, His righteousness.
Being born again is one thing, a daily life of fellowship and obedience is
another. We purpose to have a daily walk with God through a close
relationship of prayer, devotion, the Word and obedience.
The above three steps are progressive. In step one, many will say you are just a
person of God like everyone else, not necessarily His child.
In step two, you are definitely a child; you’ve been born again into the family of
God, and are saved by faith in Christ Jesus. Now you need to plug into the
heavenly nutrition in order to grow and live.
In step three, you have plugged in and are growing, and moving on well in your
journey of faith.
Step One Process
We all come into this world at step one. We are people of God, and indeed His
children by that definition. We have been created by Him. God has seen it fit to
introduce us to this world, and we are pure and sinless at this point, except the
original sin of Adam which we all inherit. We are sons in the order of Adam, who
