connected to it by consciousness, thus without consciousness
there is no reality.
This became the basis of explaining why a single photon or
electron behaves as a particle but a stream of photons or
electrons was diffracted in such a way. Each photon and
electron, whilst propagating in air is a wave function of
probabilities we don't know where it is, as per uncertainty
principle, actually it is everywhere, until it hits a surface, the
wave function collapsing and become a real entity.
Diffraction pattern shows the regions with higher probability of
finding a photon or an electron, bright fringes, and dark fringes
of lower probabilities; it’s the spreading of the wave function.
That was the birth of the wave-particle duality of light.

Einstein was not convinced with the bizarre of quantum
mechanics. To him, it was incomplete that's why it gave rise to
such strange phenomena. He didn't believe in the Copenhagen
interpretation of reality, that was unrealistic to him. He thought
something was amiss.
