That's the original Klein idea on Kaluza's conjecture. He
declared that the extra dimension was circular with a radius of
10 −^30 cm. These extra dimensions are exactly like the two
hidden dimensions in the above phenomenon.
The rise of the string theory
It was this Kaluza-Klein theory which sparked the emergence of
the string theory, a theory which emerged in 1960s as an attempt
of unifying gravity and electromagnetism.
