M-Theory predicts a 11D space, although our universe is in a 3D
space, the other are Calabi-Yau spaces, the same in Bosonic
String theory which predicts of 26D space-time. But what is the
significance of all these dimensions in our understanding of the
cosmos?


Some people think adding many dimensions is only for
mathematical aesthetic reasons. No. Higher dimensions are in
company with extremely high energy of the early universe,
before transmogrification of a super force. At that moment, there
was an extremely dense region and is hypothetically thought that
space was higher dimensional before mirror symmetry occurred.


With this, we can conclude that during the primordial moments
of the universe, before a bang, there was a grand unification
which can be simply understood in a higher dimensional space.


In a low dimensional space there is no room for simple
comprehension of that unification. That's why higher
dimensional theories can probe to Plank scales giving us a better
description of the baby picture of the universe.
So, with such a theory we can have a glimpse of events before
the Big Bang.
