Hawking’s 2009 party for time travelers, left stuck with the
question: Is time travel possible?
There is no law of physics which avoids time travel to be
possible. Michio Kaku commented that, “time travel is now an
engineering problem,” which means in future it is possible that
humans will not only travel in space but also travel in time.
In future, when we reach Type 1 civilization on Kardashev
scale, we will be able to travel back in time, or to the future,
with use of advanced time machines, warp drives, Ram jets and
anti-matter driven spaceships. Particles like tachyons which
travel to speed of light will be engineered into machines which
will traverse in time. Accelerating at fraction of c, they will
warp space-time such that time dilation-length contraction will
happen.
Although some physicists, including the late Stephen Hawking,
regarded it unrealistic and impossible, there is no law of physics
which halt you from traveling to the future and meet the future
version of yourself. In future, on day, the physics will be part of
our daily lives.
