PRIDE CHEKERAparticles of which at one moment of the particles acquire a
positive charge and escape to spatial infinity and another one
acquire a negative charge and in fall. That’s the mechanism
through which Hawking radiation is emitted. Hawking initially
believed that information was completely destroyed inside the
black hole and it couldn’t escape encoded in the Hawking
radiation. He based on the no-hair theorem that all pure states
which fall inside a black hole will be completely devoid without
conserving any. This contradicted the unitary evolution of time
supported by physicists the likes of John Preskill, Leonard
Susskind and Gerard t’ Hooft. They believed that, according to
quantum mechanics, any distinctions between orthogonal
vectors in a vector space is conserved following certain
transformations, as: ⟨휑푈+푈|휓⟩ = ⟨휑|휓⟩, where 푈+ and U are
unitary operator conjugate and unitary operator respectively
whose dot product 푈+.푈 = 퐼, an identity. Considering a unitary
S-matrix the above implies that: 휓표푢푡⟩ = S 휓푖푛⟩ and since
unitary matrix has an inverse:
휓푖푛⟩ = 푆+ 휓표푢푡⟩. This proved that information was not lost in
black holes, but conserved. At last Hawking accepted that
information was conserved as it was emitted together with the
Hawking radiation. Solutions to this black hole information
paradox include holographic principle and many worlds
interpretation.
