38. Getting on Our Knees

HENToni and her husband were transferred to South Car-
olina, she was not a happy camper. She would be leaving
the friendships she depended on, the church she loved, and the
town in which she had grown up.
Her new area in South Carolina was blessed with natural beauty,
her new home was roomy and picturesque, and there were friendly
people waiting to embrace her. But Toni wasn’t going to give in that
easily. She was pouting.
What did God think he was doing, moving her out of civilization
into the middle of nowhere? How was he going to use her in this
strange place? There were no opportunities for her to play her
French horn here, no cultural advantages anywhere nearby.
God just let Toni pout herself into a regular funk until she was
