OMETIMESI am so deeply moved by the drama and the emotion of
the Book of Psalms that my prayers become weeping or shouts of
joy. That’s how it should be! The praise in us should be no less dra-
matic, no less dynamic, no less powerful and all-consuming than the
prayers of worship in David’s heart.
When we consider the awesome deeds our God has performed on
our behalf, how can we keep quiet about his goodness? When we
