14. All the Wonders of Your World

How many are your works, O LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.

HAVEjust come in from a walk by the bay. The wind was whipping
up the waves, the clouds were gathering in great dark clusters, and
all the seabirds—pelicans and gulls and two great blue herons—
seemed to know a storm was coming.
I never tire of watching a pelican set his majestic wings like sails,
rising, soaring, and dipping high overhead like a kite on a string. I
believe that in a way God was showing off on my walk. I could feel
him there, taking pride in his creation as he showed me the ap-
proaching storm.
“Oh, Father!” I wordlessly prayed. “What an awesome God you
are!”
Since the days of Eden, God has found joy in sharing his world
