All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

HATis my life—a brief span of days that only God can
see? The days of my future are flung out before me like
unread pages in a book; the days of my past, caught up in the wind
of yesterday.
My prayers are in that book: those answered and unanswered,
prayers of pain and prayers of rejoicing. With so many lives, so many
pages, and so many prayers, how can God know them all? If all these
details are really written in his great, infallible book as Psalm 139:16
suggests, it must be a very big one indeed, like a titanic textbook of
facts and figures.
But every now and then something will happen to give me a
glimpse into God’s book as it really is. And I can see from his per-
spective that it’s not an impersonal record. It is a family album. Let
me share one such incident.
