Get excited! Because unless you do, you’re never going to get it.
You’re never going to have the power to experience him fully.”
How can we understand what is beyond our ability to under-
stand? How can we know the love that surpasses our knowledge?
This love is wider and longer and higher and deeper than our com-
prehension.
This is the love that stoops to conquer. This is the love that
reaches to redeem. This is the center and the soul of the Father who
revealed himself in the life of the Son as he walked among the men
and women of earth, holding children on his lap, teaching the les-
sons of the kingdom, healing the physical and emotional wounds of
those who followed him.
Look at him. Let the eyes of your faith rest on the one who was
willing to leave crowns and thrones and angels’ praises to become a
baby laid on straw. Look at him, the one who bowed to be baptized
though he had never sinned. Look at him, the one who faced his
own accusers, wordlessly accepting their sentence on his life; the one
who bore abuse and torture, who bled and finally died so that we
could live to laugh and love and be reconciled to his Father.
All that we need to know of God’s amazing love—his deep and
long and high and wide love for us—we will find in his Son.
Look at his Son. Look at your Savior. Open your heart and you
will be filled to all the measure of the fullness with the wonder and
the power of God.
