The steps for deploying a Project to the catalog from SSDT are as follows:
- Click Project ➪ Build.
- Click Project ➪ Deploy.
- The Integration Services Deployment Wizard appears (Figure 52-14).
This wizard guides you through the following:
■ Selecting the project (either .ispac fi le from a build or one already deployed from
the catalog)
■ Choosing on which SSIS Server to deploy
■ (^) Choosing in which Project folder in the SSIS Catalog to deploy
■ Overriding the values of any Parameters with the deployment to be used at
Execution

Projects are deployed to the SSIS Server, which is visible under the Database Engine
Connections in SSMS. It is no longer necessary to connect to Integration Services from
SSMS. After a project deploys, the project folder on the server contains a directory for the
project and its packages and another subfolder for Environments, as shown in Figure 52-15.
Environments are explained shortly.
Using the SSIS Server to Execute Projects and Packages
Now that you have read the steps required for deploying a project to the SSIS Server/
SSISDB Catalog, you can take a good look at the features inside it. These include:
