- Click Edit to supply the connection string information to your copy of the
Adventureworks AS database. Supply the connection to Adventure Works DW. Click OK. - Right-click the Datasets and click Add Dataset.
- Enter InternetSales for the name.
- Leave the Use a Dataset Embedded in My Report radio button selected.
- Choose AWCube as the Data Source.
- Click the Query Designer button to launch the query designer.
- Under the measure group, click the drop-down arrow, and select Internet Sales.
- Expand the measures under the Internet Sales measure group. Drag Internet
Sales Amount to the center design surface. - Expand the product dimension. Expand the members of the Product Categories
hierarchy by clicking the plus sign beside it. - Drag the Subcategory and Category attributes to the left of InternetSales
Amount. - Expand the Sales Territory dimension. Expand the Sales Territory hierar-
chy underneath it. - Drag over the Region and Country attributes.
- In the dimension fi lter columns above the data grid, select Sales Territory as
the dimension. Then select Sales Territory Group as the hierarchy. Select
Equal as the operator, and then select North America as the Filter Expression by
clicking in the Filter Group box and then drilling through to the attribute. - Click OK to exit the query designer window, and OK to exit the dataset window.
- Click the Toolbox pane beside the Report Data pane.
- Drag a Matrix Grid onto the design surface.
- Click the Report Data pane.
- Drag the fi eld Internet_Sales_Amount onto the date fi eld (the lower-right cor-
ner of the matrix grid). - Drag the Subcategory fi eld from the dataset to the immediate left of the
Internet_Sales_Amount in the rows fi eld. - Drag the Category to the immediate left of the Subcategory.
- Drag the Region directly on top of the Internet Sales amount label in the columns
fi eld. - Drag Country directly above it.
- Select all the label (nondata or Internet Sales) fi elds by clicking them with the
mouse and the Ctrl key pressed.
