56
FIGURE 56-1
When installing Reporting Services during a SQL Server 2012 installation, you can install the
necessary components for both native mode and SharePoint integrated mode. This fi gure
shows installation of both modes.
Reporting Services is now a service application in SharePoint. It is no longer a web service.
There can now be more than one Reporting Services instance on a SharePoint server. New
Reporting Services service applications are mapped to web applications inside SharePoint
by performing the following steps:
- From the Central Admin UI, under the Application Management section, select
Manage Service Applications. - Click New ➪ SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application.
- Perform the outlined steps in the next screen’s four sections (Name, Application
Pool, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Service Database, and Web Application
Association) as shown in Figure 56-2. - Provide a name for your new Service application in the Name section.
- In the Application Pool section, assign the service application to an application
pool. You can choose an existing application pool or create a new one here. - Also in the Application Pool section, select the wanted security account.
