TABLE 56 -1 Reporting Services Project Deployment Properties
Property Description
OverwriteDataSets Set this to true if you want to overwrite data sets on the
report server with data sets in the report project.
OverwriteDataSources Set this to true if you want to overwrite data sources on the
report server with data sources in the report project.
TargetDataSetFolder This is the path of the folder to which you want to deploy
shared data sets.
TargetDataSourceFolder This is the path of the folder to which you want to deploy
shared data sources. Using this parameter enables the defi ni-
tion of a common data source that can be deployed to a
common location and used by reports across multiple folders
(or projects in development).
For Integrated mode, use the http://<servername>/
sites/ssrs/data connections address.
TargetReportFolder This is the path of the folder to which you want to deploy
reports. In SSDT, you must create a project for each folder (or
subfolder) to which you want to deploy reports. For native
mode, it is common to keep the default value from the proj-
ect. For Integrated mode, enter the fully qualifi ed name of
your Reports Library http://<servername>>/sites/ssrs/
ReportsLibrary.
TargetReportPartFolder This is the path of the folder to which you want to deploy
Report Parts.
TargetServerURL This is the URL of the report server you want to deploy to.
The default location of your local report server for native
mode is http://localhost/ReportServer. If you named
the instance SQL2012, the local report server would be
http://localhost/ReportServer$SQL2012.
For Integrated mode, the target server is
http://<servername>>/sites/ssrs/.
TargetServerVersion The version of SQL Server Reporting Services the project will
be deployed to.
Deploying Reports Using Report Manager — Native Mode
Although SSDT provides an easy way to deploy reports to the report server, it is not
required for report deployment. You can deploy and confi gure individual Reporting Services
objects using the Report Manager. The Report Manager includes features that enable the
creation of new folders and data sources, and it provides the capability to upload and
update report defi nitions (.rdl fi les), report data sources (.rds fi les), and any other fi le type
you want to make available on the report server (such as a PDF, Word document, PowerPoint
presentation, Excel fi le, and so on).
