  1. Select New Worksheet and Click OK. A new worksheet opens in the Excel window
    with a PivotTable connected to the in-memory BI Semantic Model. The PivotTable
    Field list displays on the right with the four dimension tables and the single fact
    table selected. Notice that you are working in the Excel environment.

  2. To interact with the data, expand FactResellerSales, and drag SalesAmount and
    OrderQuantity to the Values area in the PivotTable Field List. The aggregated
    SalesAmount and OrderQuantity displays.

  3. To slice the data further, expand DimProduct, and drag EnglishProductName to the
    Row Labels of the PivotTable Field List. The data is instantaneously broken down by
    each product in the list, as shown in Figure 58-7.

  1. To analyze the data in an organized way, you can add fi lters and slicers. Expand
    DimProductCategory and drag EnglishProductCategoryName to the Slicers Vertical
    area in the PivotTable Field List.

  2. Expand DimProductSubcategory and drag EnglishProductSubcategoryName to the
    Slicers Vertical area in the PivotTable Field List, below EnglishProductCategoryName.

  3. Click Accessories in the EnglishProductCategoryName slicer. The product list is fi l-
    tered and shows only products categorized as Accessories.

  4. Click Helmets in the EnglishProductSubcategoryName slicer. The product list is
    fi ltered further and shows only products categorized as Accessories and subcatego-
    rized Helmets.
