- Click Next. The Database Engine Confi guration screen opens. The Database Engine
Confi guration screen has three tabs:
■ (^) Server Configuration: This is where you specify the initial authentica-
tion mode (Windows Authentication or Mixed Mode) and specify SQL Server
administrators. As a security measure the BUILTIN\Administrators group
is not added to the SQL Server sysadmin group by default, so you need to
specify at least one domain account that can be used as a sysadmin. Pressing
the Add Current User button adds the account of the person performing the
install to the sysadmin group. If you choose Mixed Mode, you are required
to enter a password that conforms to your organization’s current Active
Directory password policy.
■ Data Directories: Here you can specify the default locations that you want to
use for you data; user database and logs; and tempdb and backup directories. All
of the location must be on shared cluster disk and would have had to be chosen
as a part of the Cluster Disk Selection.
■ FILESTREAM: This tab is used for enabling and performing confi guration
of FILESTREAM for T-SQL and I/O streaming access.
Figure 29-10 shows the Database Engine Confi guration screen and the Data
Directories tab options.
If you select Analysis Services to be installed, the Analysis Services Confi guration page
displays to set its Server Confi guration and Data Directories as well.
- Click Next. The Error Reporting screen opens. On the Error Reporting screen,
select whether you want to automatically send error messages to Microsoft. This is

performs a fi nal check to be sure that you are not running on a FAT32 fi le system
and that there are no reboots pending that could prevent the install from complet-
ing successfully. - Click Next. The Ready to Install screen opens. The SQL Server 2012 Setup Wizard
now has suffi cient information to perform your install. The Ready to Install screen
displays all features and confi guration options that have been set. This screen also
provides the path to the confi guration fi le that will be used for the install. - Click Install. The Installation Progress screen opens and the installation process
starts. During installation you can track progress on the installation progress bar.
The install may take some time depending upon your confi guration options.
