Entrepreneurs must search markets to acquire resources for new ventures, while
intrapreneurs typically look inside the organization for resources that are not currently
being used or employed efficiently. The intrapreneur can pry these resources (which
probably closely resemble the corporation’s core resources) loose from some current
business operation. In other words, the machines and physical plant the corporation is
not using are probably much like the resources that are actually being employed. For
example, Hewlitt-Packard’s famous skunk works operations were based on using current
