Go through your list of strengths (confidence Builder 239), and for
each consider:

■ How can I make good/better use of this?
■ How can I do or use more of this?
■ How can I do/use it more often?

Write your answers in your notebook. Think about them. You may
wish to amend your goals in the light of these new insights.

Make a list of personal qualities you wish to develop or acquire. Take
each in turn and work on it for a week using the I-T-I-A Formula©.
Begin by making up affirmations that encapsulate the kind of person
you wish to become. For example, ‘Every day in every way I become
more and more patient.’ Use your affirmations every day.

Each day for one week relax and visualise or imagine what it would feel
like to have that quality. For instance, imagine how you would feel and
behave if you were more patient and how your life would be different.

For one week concentrate on behaving as if you already had this new
quality or habit. Taking patience as an example, in week one make a
determined effort to be more patient. If you slip up, don’t worry, just
keep trying. Every success, however small, raises your confidence
another notch.
In week two go on to the next quality, work on that for a week, and
so on. When you reach the bottom of your list, review your progress.
Cross off any qualities you feel you’ve mastered. If you wish, substitute
a new one. Then work through your list again.
Keep going, working down your list until you’ve acquired all the qualities
or habits you desire.
