Think about risks you’ve taken in the past. What happened? How did
they work out? Choose three big risks you have taken. What can you
learn from them?

Think of three things you would love to do, but have been afraid to try
because you’re unsure of the consequences. For each, write down:

■ What would be the best possibleoutcome?
■ What would be the very worstthat could happen?
■ What do you most fear?
■ How realistic are your fears?

Now do them! Don’t be put off, especially by anything others say. You’ll
probably discover two things: one, your fears were groundless (they
often are) and two, you feel terrific!

Make this saying (the title of an excellent book by Dr Susan Jeffers) a
motto:

‘Feel the fear and do it anyway.’

Remind yourself of it whenever you feel unsure of yourself.
