time spent at a commercial gym. e convenience is terrific, and no longer
will you have to put up with the elements that bothered you in a commercial
gym.

. Be careful that you do not get so overwhelmed with the convenience aspect
that you lose your regularity of training. Because you can always train
tomorrow does not mean that you should become a procrastinator. If it is
training day today, and so long as you feel well recovered from your previous
workout, then train today.

. is is where a home gym offers great convenience. It simplifies how you fix
your training days. For example, it becomes easy to train every fourth day,
which may be impossible to coordinate with the schedule required by your
work and the hours of a commercial gym.

. Be careful that you do not do extra work on your planned rest days. Because
you will always have the training equipment at hand, it may be tempting to
visit your home gym and get in some extra training. is is a road to ruin.
Devise a first-class training program of workout days and rest days, and
stick to it.

. A home gym makes practical some types of training programs that would
be impractical if you had to depend on a gym away from home. For example,
an advanced interpretation of rest-pause training could have you perform-
ing a near-limit single every hour for say ten consecutive hours. at would
be your day’s workout, spread over most of the waking day. Time it for a day
you spend at home. As another example you may want to train each exercise
apart from the others in your program. To spread your training out over the
course of a single day is not practical at a commercial gym, but it is practical
at a home gym so long as you are home all day on the days concerned.

. Training should always be a joy, though darn hard work. But when you train
in your own private gym, and can do what you want to without interrup-
tions from others, it should become a greater joy. And it may be the most
productive training you ever do, so long as you apply the heightened focus
to good routines.
