Cycles Dry of Gains

. Implement the following thirteen-point strategy—some of which connects
information given earlier in this book, especially related to avoiding over-
training—and you can extend the growth stage of a training cycle consider-
ably. en you can notch up more muscular gains before finally starting a
new training cycle.

RULE 
You must be a model of dedication and commitment
. To make the most of the final leg of each cycle you must be  dedicated
to training and training-related matters. Compromise on anything and you
will compromise on your gains.

. But maintain an extraordinary level of dedication without neglecting the rest
of your life. Remember that what is very important to you is unlikely to be
as important for your family, friends and fellow workers. Just get on with
applying your dedication in your own private way.

RULE 
You must train hard
. All the talk, study and whatever else about training counts for nothing when
you have to give your all to squeezing out another good-form rep, and then
another, and then another. Here is when you discover how much you want
bigger and stronger muscles. Here is when your mettle is tested. Here is
where the buck stops with you. If you do not deliver the effort, then forget
about gains no matter how conscientiously you may satisfy all the other
requirements of productive training.
