i. The price difference between mechanical switch and analog transmitter is
only of Rs. 4,000/- to 5,000/- per unit,
ii. The use of transmitter will able to give continuous signal of compressed air
in CRR,
iii. The continuous signal will help the operator and maintenance team for efficient
operation of bag filter,
iv. The analog signal will also tender conditioning monitoring of air pressure to
operator.
v. Since the transmitters are available in standard range and model hence it
will help in optimization of plant inventory for compressed air system in the
plant.
c. The smart transmitters (4-20mA with HART) are designed with standard range
of measurement but they have option of re-ranging and re-calibration. These
transmitter tender’s excellent accuracy and reliability because of proper span
selection and resolution.
d. The Profibus transmitters are also designed with standard range of measurement
but they have option of re-ranging and re-calibration. Since transmitters are
connected on a bus; the re-ranging, Fault diagnostics and transmitter
information documentation can be carried out from remote PC terminal at
CCR. However, failure of single node results in loss of data to a group of
transmitters. These transmitter tenders excellent accuracy and reliability be
cause of proper span selection and resolution.
e. It is recommended to use Profibus based transmitters in process control
