iii. Air gap between rotor and stator is very less resulting in minimal flux leakage
and high flux linkage. This would result to good power factor and high
efficiency of the motor.


iv. The workman ship in energy efficient induction motor is excellent as compared
to standard induction motors.


v. The cooling system of these motor very effective as compared to standard
motors which leads to improve in efficiency.


vi. The purchase cost of the energy efficient motors is higher than standard
motors but efficiency gain is significant over a period of time.


vii. High efficiency motors have lower slip and hence these operate at slightly
higher speeds. Hence in the case centrifugal pumps and fans, this may lead
to slightly higher flows and some increase in power. Hence for these
applications, use of high efficiency motors should be done carefully to
ensure that the increased power requirement does not neutralize the
reduction in motor losses.


viii. The motor may be used for following applications:



  • Continuous belt conveyor

  • Process fans (ID fans and FD fans),

  • Air compressors,

  • Process water pumps

  • Air slide blowers

  • Roots blowers,

  • Continuous and constant loading application.
