Rotoscale is supplied by M/s Pfister through Transweigh. It’s a rotary weigh feeder,
used for weighing of Fine/powdered materials like pulverized coal for Kiln & PC
firing, raw meal for kiln feed and fly ash in cement industry.
Operating Principle:
System consists of mainly following components
- Load cell based Measuring Bin above the system
- Horizontal rotary valve and its motor
- Load Cell assembly
- Microprocessor based Control panel
The horizontal rotary valve hangs on a suspended axle with two weighing bearings.
The third suspension point is load cell. It is measuring the gravimetric content
inside the chambers of rotor. With its control system, known as ProsCon, the rotor
speed is controlled inverse to the momentary load which results in a constant
material flow (feed rate) at discharge point. The above operating method hence
makes Rotary Weigh Feeder a horizontal rotary valve where Feed Rate is derived
from the product of Rotor Angular Speed and Weigh Length load averaged from
rotation feed point to blow out. In principle, it is similar to belt weigh feeders. Fig.
1 shows the arrangement of system, installed for Fine coal.
