Note:
- As we can see in the above comparison the GIS is better for very high level
Voltage transmission with multiple bay type substation, however in our case
AIS would be better choice as the bay is single, the voltage grade is 132KV. - In addition to this we also compared the area required for the installation
and found for single bay installation we have no constraint for AIS. Again in
GIS as the total area reduced by 35 to 40%. So, where the land space is
having limitations, GIS shall be preferred. - Cost of Supply & installation of GIS is approximately 2 times higher than
AIS, so financially this is also not advisable to go for GIS for a single bay
switchyard in normal condition.
