(Project Pridr) #1

avoid jamming as far as possible low inclined chutes are required to be
provided between conveyors and valley angles of hoppers, it should be kept
min.70 deg. Further, the SS liners (for abrasive material) or Polymer liners
(for sticky material) should be provided for easy flow of material. No MS
liners should be provided in the hoppers as the welding of the liners causes
the buildup of the material and thus jamming of the hoppers.
The mill inlet also is prone to jamming, hence the provision for the three flap
gate and hot gas connection helps to avoid the jamming and improves the
availability of the mill in case of VRM installations.
2.1.3 Cost Comparison
We have taken the typical example of the 10000-ton storage silo V/s 15000-ton
storage silo. As mentioned in the below sheet, the difference of civil cost is approx.
Rs.262 Lacs. The major mechanical cost is of Bucket elevator which will in crease
by Approx.Rs.50 Lacs.
The total difference of cost between the 10000 tons and the 15000 tons is Approx.
Rs.313 Lacs including civil, structure and equipment cost.
The operating cost of the 15000 tons blending silo is approx.Rs.22 Lacs higher than
the 10000 tons per annum.
