In cement plants, the cement dispatch is done by road or by rails depends upon
the availability of the rail infrastructure. Rail is the most economical logistic in the
recent scenario. It can handle the large volume in less time. The road dispatch is
done with the help of truck loaders or we can say trailer loaders. The bags can be
loaded individually into open or closed trucks, vessels or railway wagons and can
be made available for dispatch via palletizing systems with modern transportation
systems. Also during this phase, the configuration of the plant is adjusted to
individual needs and requirements.
Truck loading machines with floor as well as roof mountings fulfill the requirement
of loading all types and sizes of trucks and trailers. The three dimensional adjustable
truck loading machine with slewing and luffing actions has made the job of cement
bag loading an easy task with present day truck loading machine. The truck loading
machines are available in two basic models, Floor mounted and Roof mounted
type. There is always a dilemma for type of loaders to be selected. Packing plant
layout and the frequency of type of truck to be loaded are the main criteria for
the selection of the type of loaders. A technical description of both types of loaders
is mentioned below.
3.1 Floor Mounted Truck Loader
As term describes, it is mounted on ground floor of the packing house and is
moved on the rails for the truck loading. The floor can be a RCC or stone masonry
surrounded by RCC wall. The positioning of the trucks near the loading platform
takes place in the reverse direction in front of the loader. The truck positions from
front side of the loader and moves away in the same direction after loading gets
completed as shown in the below fig.1
