This loader is used both for truck and trailer loading. The length of loading requires
to be specified at the time of tendering. The top loading arm is swiveling type
which goes inside the truck and places the cement bags in to the truck. In this
type of loader there is little chance of damaging the truck loader by striking with
truck at the time of placement of trucks. These are some advantages of Floor
mounted truck loaders.
- High Reliability
- Low building cost than hanging type
- Low Construction time
- Low maintenance cost
- Safe and easy to operate
- Less initial cost
The disadvantage is the possibility of damage of bags because of spiral chute
installation; this can be prevented by putting Teflon liners. Also, there is threat to
safety as truck need to be placed in reverse mode and can damage equipment
or civil column. The Packing plant building cost is also lower as the beams which
are required to support the roof mounted type of truck loader are eliminated. The
extension of the roof after the truck loader is not required in this type of loader as
it obstructs the truck placement for loading. This has a lesser flexibility as Additional
attachment of the main trailer cannot be loaded at one go.
The layout is to be suitably adopted for free movement and the placement of
trucks i.e. sufficient space for reversing the truck for placement is required in front.
3.2 Roof Mounted Truck loader
This type of loader is installed on the elevated floor in the packing plant building
and hangs down to load the truck. It also moves on the rails. The hanging portion
of the loader is attached to a hoist for up and down operation of the inclined belt
conveyor. Truck can either be placed from front or from back side of loader
depending upon the packing plant layout. Below Figures show the arrangement of
this type of loader.
