- Waterproof structure: The K-House adopts waterproof design so it does not
need any separate waterproof treatment. - Environmental and Economic: K-House can be use repeatedly and is low on
energy consumption which does not affect the environment. The average
annual cost is much lower than other similar materials building houses.
5.4 Worker Housing Using PEB Structures
Worker availability and retention has become a serious challenge for all major
industrial and infrastructure projects. Even Plant deployed construction agencies
have faced difficulty in mobilising adequate manpower resources during peak
execution periods. Further due to poor retention rates for the deployed workers,
adequate manpower was not available to handle multiple fronts leading to delays.
With an objective to increase availability of manpower as well as retention of skilled
workers, Plant management has mandated a need to create good accommodation
for 500-600 workmen directly by Plant in initial stage with supporting infrastructure.
This accommodation can be allotted for initial or peak time requirements to major
execution agencies. Contractors shall also make worker accommodation of same
standard for their respective labour as per specification of Plant. Plant to make
proper infrastructure at colony like drainage system & hygienic etc. for more than
5000 people in peak. Provision in project budget for approx. Rs 5 Cr.
