a. Operating Mechanism:
- The POLYTRACK clinker cooler is a combination of static aeration floor with
above floor clinker conveying equipment operating on the principle of a
shuttle floor. - The conveying elements are transport tracks and are arranged parallel. The
entire cooler is of modular design. - Concept of Clinker dead layer of 200 mm will be there to save the mother
plate by hot clinker which creates extra pressure drop and power
consumption of cooling air fans. - Vertical aeration by air flow is used for hot clinker cooling.
b. Design Concept: - Static inlet section.
- Separate clinker conveying and cooling concept
- Self-adjusting mechanical flow regulators
- Horizontal design with optimized transport control.
- No undergrate dust collection and conveying is required.
c. Design Care for Snowman: Inclined static grate, no step, will not allow any
snowman formation.
d. Design Care for Red River: Red river issue can be avoided by - Putting up an air adjustment orifice plate at the red river area.
- Adjusting the stroke length.
- Cooler can be operated in manual mode as per requirement.
e. Efficient Labyrinth Seal maintains 1 mm gap between plates.
f. Recuperation efficiency: TKIL has offered 76.4 % recuperation efficiency
(clinker temperature 1400 Deg C in HB).
g. Maintenance Aspects: No major issue, only routine checkups and of shuttles
and seals are required. Up to three years of operation the maintenance cost is
Rs. 0 /T of clinker.
13.6 Conclusion
Based on above comparison of various coolers, IKN and FLS cross bar coolers are
being successfully operated in industry with better heat recovery and lower power
consumption.FLS supplied cross bar has high wear & supplier to check the metallurgy
of cross bar cooler.
Since cooler is the critical equipment and contribute significantly on overall specific
