7.8 Conclusion
- 8 .1 Raw material Grinding:
- If material is soft in nature and have high moisture, definitely VRM is recommended.
- If material hardness is higher i.e. more than 7.5 to 8 KWh/ton at VRM shaft,
then the case has to be evaluated for economics with respect to VRM or Roller
press system. For economics evaluation, requirement of hot gas and overall
power consumption is also a major consideration. - It is also observed when moisture in raw material is high, Roller Press system
require less hot gases as the purpose is only to dry the raw material and no
lifting is required. In case of VRM, hot gas is required for lifting of raw material
as well as for drying, so hot gas requirement is more in case of VRM. Hence
heat availability for Waste heat recovery system will be less. This point should
be evaluated in selection process.
