Chabad of Moorpark calendar 5782

(dlheid) #1

This publication is dedicated to

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson

Who inspired the founding of Chabad Institutions worldwide.

The Rebbe devoted his life to bringing Jews closer to Judaism and sending Shluchim, emissaries throughout the globe. The Chabad
movement, with more than 3,000 centers, emphasizes Ahavat Yisroel, love of a fellow Jew, and the importance of living a Jewish life.

The Rebbe’s passionate and uncompromising love for every Jew is legendary. His insistence that all Jews are equal,

regardless of background, affiliation, or level of observance; his love and devotion to the land of Israel; and his love for G-d and Torah are

the beacons of truth and love that continue to guide and inspire us in Moorpark, and throughout the world.

Dear Friend,
It is with great pleasure that we present to you our unique Jewish Calendar and Program Guide 5782 – ALL IN ONE!

Although this past year was, and continues to be challenging and unique, we came up with ways to inspire, reach out, and meet the needs of the local
community.

Throughout the year there were innovative programs and initiatives to reach those who felt isolated at home, and engage others who felt
comfortable in an outdoor setting. There were drive-throughs to pick up challah, chicken soup & cheesecake, interactive events on zoom
such as games night, movie night, virtual Challah bake, and cooking demos. We had world-renowned speakers present lectures and
presentations on zoom on the most fascinating topics. The Chanukah mobile, Pesach deliveries, and special food packages were
brought to many families who had not left their home for over a year!
For the children, there were interactive and enthralling Hebrew School zoom meetings, BMX Bar Mitzvah club, and the Torah
Classes gained many new students since it was broadcasted on facebook. And best of all, Gan Izzy Ranch Camp was a magical
opportunity for over 170 children to connect and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
We may not currently know what the new year ahead will look like, but what we DO know with clarity and certainty, is that we will
do all we can to be here for every individual emotionally, physically, spiritually, and in any way possible.
As you turn the pages, you will see new programs such as JUDA, the Jewish Youth Zone, WINTER CAMP, Friday night themed
dinners, new classes, and lots of family events. Of course the “old” programs and classes will continue as well.
Many of these will be offered in a HYBRID fashion, where each individual can choose whether to attend in person,
via zoom, or a drive-in.
Our vision and goal is to create a spritual oasis for every segment of the Jewish community from toddlers to youth, teenagers to young families,
adults to seniors, and children with special needs.
The success of Chabad is based on the fact that it is not a particular branch of Judaism.
It is an outlook. At Chabad, we recognize the importance of each individual regardless of affiliation or background. Every good deed,
no matter how big or small, is significant and meaningful. With traditional Jewish ideals and values we will be able to strengthen
Jewish pride and secure Jewish Continuity.
Chabad's financial support is derived solely from the generous contributions of local people like yourself.
Help us keep Judaism flourishing by making your donation today!

With best wishes to you and your family for a Shana Tovah, a happy and healthy sweet new year.
