Cang Zhu Rhizoma Atractylodis lanceae 9 g
Huang Bo Cortex Phellodendri 9 g
Niu Xi Radix Achyranthis bidentatae seu Cyathulae 9 g
Yi Yi Ren Semen Coicis lachryma jobi 9 g
Wei Ling Xian Radix Clematidis chinensis 6 g
Hai Tong Pi Cortex Erythrinae variegatae 6 g

Explanation



  • The first four herbs form the Si Miao San which resolves Damp-Heat in the lower part of
    the body.

  • Wei Ling Xian and Hai Tong Pi expel Wind-Damp from the channels.


Variations



  • If symptoms and signs of Heat are pronounced add Zhi Zi Fructus Gardeniae
    jasminoidis, Ze Xie Rhizoma Alismatis orientalis and Mu Tong Caulis Akebiae.

  • If the Heart part of Damp-Heat has begun to injure Yin fluids, add Zhi Mu Radix
    Anemarrhenae asphodeloidis and Tian Men Dong Tuber Asparagi cochinchinensis.
