Explanation


This remedy is for a stage further than the one outlined above under the previous remedy. It is
for the stage when Fire has already begun to dry up the Lung fluids noticeably, paralysis is
setting in and symptoms and signs of deficiency of Yin are beginning to appear.


The tongue presentation for this remedy is different than the one for the previous remedy: in this
case the tongue is Red, dry and without coating. There may also be constipation, but this is due
to lack of fluids in the Intestines rather than to Fire.


Invasion of Damp-Heat


Clinical Manifestations


Constant low-grade fever which does not abate with sweating, weakness, heaviness and swelling
of the legs, numbness, a feeling of oppression of the chest and epigastrium, cloudy urine, a
feeling of heaviness of the body, yellow complexion, a feeling of heat in the feet.


Tongue: yellow-sticky coating.


Pulse: Slippery and Rapid.

Clear Heat, resolve Dampness.
