Clinical Manifestations


Fresh blood (either bright-red or slightly dark-red) in the stools, loose and frequent stools with
mucus, abdominal pain.


Tongue: Red with a yellow-sticky coating on the root with red spots.


Pulse: Slippery-Rapid.


Treatment Principle


Clear Heat, resolve Dampness, stop bleeding.

General Prescription


SP-9 Yinlingquan, SP-6 Sanyinjiao, Ren-10 Xiawan, ST-25 Tianshu, BL-25 Dachangshu, BL-20
Pishu, BL-22 Sanjiaoshu, ST-37 Shangjuxu, L.I.-11 Quchi and SP-10 Xuehai. Reinforcing
method on BL-20, even method on all the others.


Explanation



  • SP-9, SP-6 and BL-22 resolve Damp-Heat from the Lower Burner.

  • Ren-10 helps to resolve Dampness in the Lower Burner.

  • ST-25, and BL-25, Front-Collecting and Back-Transporting point of the Large Intestine
    respectively, clear Heat, resolve Dampness and stop diarrhoea.

  • BL-20 tonifies the Spleen to resolve Dampness.

  • ST-37 stops chronic diarrhoea.

  • L.I.-11 and SP-10 cool Blood and stop bleeding. L.I.-11 also resolves Damp-Heat from
    the Large Intestine.
