Explanation
This remedy expels Wind-Heat, drains Interior Heat and resolves Fire-Poison. It also clears Heat
from the skin: this makes it suitable to treat bleeding under the skin caused by Blood-Heat.
It is contraindicated in pregnancy. The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Red
body with a yellow coating.
Yin Deficiency With Empty-Heat
Clinical Manifestations
Scarlet-red spots under the skin, bleeding from other sites such as nose or gums, malar flush,
mental restlessness, dry mouth, 5-palm heat, feeling of heat in the afternoon, night sweating.
Tongue: Red, no coating, red points all over.
Pulse: Floating-Empty and slightly Rapid.
This is a chronic condition in old people with Yin deficiency of the Kidneys and Empty-Heat
agitating the Blood.
Treatment Principle
Nourish Yin, clear Empty-Heat, stop bleeding.

KI-3 Taixi, KI-6 Zhaohai, Ren-4 Guanyuan, SP-6 Sanyinjiao, KI-2 Rangu, LIV-3 Taichong,
L.I.-11 Quchi, SP-10 Xuehai. Reducing or even method, except on the first four points which
should be reinforced. No moxa.
