Clear Heat and Cool Blood
Herbs from this category are the most important ones to stop bleeding from Blood-Heat in

Chi Shao Radix Paeoniae rubrae and Mu Dan Pi Cortex Moutan radicis.
Empty-Heat

bleeding. It occurs when Yang-Qi is deficient and fails to hold Blood. It is rare as internal Cold
deriving from Yang deficiency has the tendency to coagulate Blood. The main herb to stop
bleeding from the uterus by warming is Ai Ye Folium Artemisiae.
Astringe
The main astringent herbs used in this context in gynaecology are Shan Zhu Yu Fructus Corni
