Explanation
- The first six herbs constitute the Tao Hong Si Wu Tang which nourishes and moves
Blood. - Pu Huang and Wu Ling Zhi constitute the Shi Xiao San which moves Blood and stops
pain. Pu Huang also stops bleeding. - Qian Cao Gen and San Qi are added because they move Blood and stop bleeding.

- If the stasis of Blood derives from Cold in the uterus (tongue Bluish-Purple) add Ai Ye
Folium Artemisiae and Fu Zi Radix Aconiti carmichaeli praeparata. - If the stasis of Blood derives from Heat (tongue Reddish-Purple) add Sheng Di Huang
Radix Rehmanniae glutinosae, Mu Dan Pi Cortex Moutan radicis and Di Yu Radix
Sanguisorbae officinalis.
