  • Bai Shao tonifies the Nutritive Qi. Together with Gui Zhi, they harmonize Defensive and
    Nutritive Qi.

  • Sheng Jiang assists Gui Zhi in expelling Wind-Cold.

  • Da Zao assists Bai Shao in tonifying the Nutritive Qi. Together with Sheng Jiang, they
    harmonize Defensive and Nutritive Qi.

  • Gan Cao harmonizes.


Variations



  • If there is a pronounced stiffness of the neck and other muscles add Ge Gen Radix
    Puerariae. This makes the Gui Zhi Jia Ge Gen Tang Ramulus Cinnamomi Decoction plus
    Pueraria.

  • If there is cough and breathlessness add Hou Po Cortex Magnoliae officinalis and Xing
    Ren Semen Pruni armeniacae. this makes the Gui Zhi Jia Hou Po Xing Zi Tang Ramulus
    Cinnamomi Decoction plus Magnolia and Prunus.


Wind-Heat


Clinical Manifestations


Aversion to cold, shivering, fever, slight sweating, runny nose with yellow discharge, head-ache,
body-aches, cough, sore throat, swollen tonsils, slight thirst, slightly dark urine.


Tongue: slightly Red on the sides and/or front.


Pulse: Floating-Rapid.


Treatment Principle


Release the Exterior, expel Wind-Heat and restore the dispersing and descending of Lung-Qi.
