Prescription


Yu Ping Feng San
(Jade Wind Screen Powder)


Huang Qi Radix Astragali membranacei 30 g
Bai Zhu Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae 60 g
Fang Feng Radix Ledebouriellae sesloidis 30 g

Explanation



  • Huang Qi and Bai Zhu tonify Lung-Qi and consolidate the Exterior.

  • Fang Feng, in combination with the previous two, consolidates the Exterior and prevents
    invasion of exterior Wind.


Note that the above dosages are for making a batch of powder and not a decoction.


Variations



  • If there are Cold symptoms add Gui Zhi Ramulus Cinnamomi cassiae, Bai Shao Radix
    Paeoniae albae, Sheng Jiang Rhizoma Zingiberis officinalis recens and Da Zao Fructus
    Ziziphi jujubae.

  • If there is both Qi and Yin deficiency add Sheng Mai San Generating the Pulse
    Decoction.


Spleen Deficiency


Clinical Manifestations


Slight wheezing that has a low sound, poor appetite, slight abdominal distension, intolerance to
certain foods, tiredness, shortness of breath, dislike of speaking, desire to lie down, weariness.


Tongue: Pale.


Pulse: Weak.


Treatment Principle


Tonify the Spleen and resolve Phlegm.
