Clinical Manifestations


Chronic asthma with infrequent attacks occurring mostly in daytime, chilliness, wheezing,
backache, frequent-pale urination, oedema of ankles.


Tongue: Pale, wet.


Pulse: Deep-Weak-Slow.


Explanation


This formula treats Lung-Qi and Kidney-Yang deficiency with internal Cold.



  • Su Zi restores the descending of Lung-Qi and calms asthma.

  • Ban Xia, Hou Po and Qian Hu restore the descending of Lung-Qi, resolve Phlegm and
    relieve fullness in the chest.

  • Rou Gui warms the Kidney and tonifies the Fire of the Gate of Vitality to strengthen the
    Kidney's grasping of Qi.

  • Dang Gui tonifies Liver-Blood to strengthen the Original Qi.

  • Sheng Jiang and Su Ye help to make Lung-Qi descend and harmonize the Stomach.

  • Da Zao and Gan Cao harmonize.
