Variations



  • If there is pronounced sneezing add Cang Er Zi Fructus Xanthii, Xin Yi Hua Flos
    Magnoliae liliflorae and Bai Zhi Radix Angelicae dahuricae.

Ge Gen Radix Perariae 9 g
Chai Hu Radix Bupleuri 6 g
Qiang Huo Radix et Rhizoma Notopterygii 3 g
Bai Zhi Radix Angelicae dahuricae 3 g
Huang Qin Radix Scutellariae baicalensis 6 g
Shi Gao Gypsum fibrosum 5 g
Jie Geng Radix Platycodi grandiflori 3 g
Bai Shao Radix Paeoniae albae 6 g
Gan Cao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis 3 g

Explanation



  • Ge Gen and Chai Hu expel Wind-Heat and relax the tendons.

  • Qiang Huo and Bai Zhi expel Wind and release the Exterior. Bai Zhi, in particular,
    reaches the nose to expel Wind and resolve mucus.

  • Huang Qin and Shi Gao clear Heat.

  • Jie Geng restores the descending of Lung-Qi.

  • Bai Shao and Gan Cao harmonize the Nutritive Qi.


This formula is used for sneezing with symptoms of Wind-Heat and some interior Heat.
