Explanation

This formula has already been discussed under Liver-Qi stagnation. It can be adapted to treat
Liver-Blood stasis by increasing the dosage of Chuan Xiong.

Mental-Emotional Pattern

Anger, resentment, frustration, jealousy and hatred may all lead to Liver-Blood stasis. This will
cause extreme depression, severe mood swings, intense irritability, propensity to violent
outbursts of anger, obsessive jealousy and, in severe cases, manic-depression.

Variations

• Yu Jin Tuber Curcumae should be added to move Liver-Blood, open the Mind's orifices
  and relieve depression.


• In cases of severe depression add He Huan Pi Cortex Albizziae julibrissin.
