This formula tonifies Heart-Qi, Heart-Blood and Heart-Yin. It shares the same name as another
formula (Yang Xin Tang I) which tonifies Heart-Qi and Heart-Blood. When used for Heart-Yin,
it can be modified by reducing the dosage of the Qi tonics and increasing that of the Yin tonics.
- Huang Qi and Ren Shen tonify Heart-Qi.
- Bai Zi Ren nourishes Heart-Blood, calms the Mind and promotes sleep.
- Fu Shen calms the Mind and promotes sleep.
- Chuan Xiong harmonizes Blood and directs the herbs upwards to the Mind.
- Yuan Zhi calms the Mind.
- Mai Dong and Wu Wei Zi nourish Heart-Yin and calm the Mind.
- Gan Cao and Sheng Jiang harmonize.
Variations
- If the symptoms of Yin deficiency are pronounced add Tian Men Dong Tuber Asparagi
cochinchinensis and Sheng Di Huang Radix Rehmanniae glutinosae. - If there are pronounced symptoms of Empty-Heat add Qing Hao Herba Artemisiae
apiaceae and Mu Li Concha Ostreae.
