A Kidney deficiency is often the cause of chronic tiredness particularly in very long-standing
conditions. In fact, a deficiency of any of the other Yin organs can lead to a Kidney deficiency
after a long period of time. In particular, Spleen deficiency often leads to Kidney-Yang
deficiency, while a Liver-Blood deficiency often leads to Kidney-Yin deficiency.
To summarize, the three steps in identifying the cause of chronic tiredness are:
- distinguish Deficiency and Excess
- distinguish Qi, Yang, Blood or Yin Deficiency in case of Deficiency, distinguish
which pathogenic factor is involved in case of Excess - identify the organ involved.
